Let’s say you have sent follow requests to a lot of people on Instagram. Once these people accept your request, you will get access to their profiles and watch their feed.

You may have sent the follow request to the private account users and now you’d like to delete those.

How can you do that? In this post, we are going to walk you through a detailed guide of unsending the follow request. Keep reading.

Can You Cancel All Sent Follow Requests on Instagram at Once?

When you start using Instagram, you don’t really know who to follow. You send follow requests to hundreds of people at once. If you have been using Instagram for quite a while, you must know that the platform allowed people to send multiple follow requests at once. However, Instagram has changed a lot since then.

It has enhanced the security features and is now focusing more on the user’s privacy than other things. Now, it is not possible to send more than 10 requests at once or unsend these requests. So, you are going to have to be very careful when it comes to sending requests or unfollowing people.

Instagram might suspend your account or limit your usage, for example, you may no longer be able to send any more follow requests for the next few days or until the restriction is lifted. If you follow the manual way of removing people from Instagram, you can only remove up to 10 people at a time. Instagram does not let you unfollow a large number of users at once.

So, as far as these limitations are concerned, you can unfollow or cancel the follow request of 10 people at once. You need to wait a few hours or a day to start canceling the next set of requests.

Now, the question is how do you know who you had sent a follow request to? Or, is there any way to track down the people who have not accepted your follow request till now?

Well, if you knew who has not accepted your request, you could easily cancel it.

How to Cancel All Sent Follow Requests on Instagram

Method 1: Cancel Follow Request on Instagram Website

You might have sent the requests in bulk earlier, so it must be hard to locate each user you have sent a request to. Here’s what you can do to find a list of the Instagram accounts you have sent a follow request to.

  • Log in to your Instagram account on your browser.
  • Click on the ring-like icon next to the “edit profile” option.
  • On the menu, click on Privacy and Security and scroll down to find “View account data”.
  • Under the “connections” tab, you will see the “current follow requests” option. Click on this to get a list of the users you have sent a follow request.
  • It will display the usernames of all the Instagram users that have not accepted your request yet.
  • You can copy this or take a screenshot of the page and then cancel the follow request manually by searching for each user in the Instagram search bar.
  • Visit their profile and click on the “Cancel request” button right below their profile to unsend the follow request.

That’s the easiest way to unsend your Instagram follow request. The problem, however, is that this method does not work for users who have sent a request to hundreds of people. It happens. You create an Instagram account and send a friend request to strangers only to realize later that it was a mistake.

Method 2: Cancel Sent Request on Instagram App

You don’t have to log into Instagram on your browser. It can be done on the mobile app as well. Here are the steps for unsending the pending follow requests on your Instagram mobile app.

  • Log in to your Instagram account (if you aren’t already signed in).
  • Tap the profile icon located at the bottom of the screen.
  • On your profile, tap the hamburger icon on the top right next to the “+” option.
  • From the list of options, select Settings > Security.
  • Under the Data and History tab, tap the Access Data option.
  • All your profile information will be displayed here. Scroll down to find the “connections” tab and find the “current follow requests” option.
  • Tap View All. There you go! You will get a list of the accounts that have not accepted your follow request yet.
  • If these requests have been pending for a long time, chances are these users might not accept the requests at all. So, it is better to unsend them.

If you see these requests, Instagram only shows you the requests of the top 10 users. Select View More to get a full list. Unfortunately, it does not have an option that could allow you to cancel the pending requests directly.

So, you can copy each username from this section, type it in the Instagram search bar, locate the profile of the user, and tap the “requested” option. It will be back to follow option. The process may seem time-consuming, but considering that Instagram doesn’t let you cancel more than 10 requests at a time. So, you need to do it only 10 times at once.

You can’t follow this method to unsend hundreds of friend requests. Here’s when our trick comes into the picture. Let’s take a look at a quick trick you can use to unsend the Instagram follow requests at once.

3. Download the Cancel Pending Follow Request App

If you have sent too many requests and would like to cancel them all at once, the easiest way to do that is by using a mobile app. PlayStore has this app called “cancel pending follow requests” that you can download on your mobile and buy its subscription.

After you have purchased the plan, you can get a list of the pending requests from your Instagram account and cancel them all. It is for those who don’t want to go through the hassle of unsending each request manually. All you have to do is buy the membership and click on cancel all requests and you are good to go! Then again, this idea may not work for every user since it is a paid app. You are supposed to buy a subscription to use its features.

4. Try the Javascript Code

When you view Instagram pending requests, you will find the “view more” option right below these requests. That’s because Instagram allows you to cancel only 10 requests at once. So, do not click on that. Press F12 on your keyboard and head over to the console tab. Paste the below-listed code in the console tab:

var i=0;
 var unfollow="global";
 var final="global";
 var link=["link","link2"];
 var proWindow=[""]
 proWindow.length=0
 link.length=0;
 var ids = document.querySelectorAll(".-utLf");
 for(i=0;i<ids.length;i++){
   link.push('https://www.instagram.com/'+ids[i].innerText+'/');
      console.log(link[i]);
      proWindow[i]=window.open(link[i]);
 }

Hit Enter to execute this code. Your Instagram account will open in two tabs. Once the accounts are loaded on your browser, paste the below-listed code right below the above code and run it on the console.
