All of our lives are a series of firsts – right from our first steps to our first day of school, college, and work – every first is always a special experience. We cherish them, celebrate them with our loved ones, and as we grow older, we reminisce and indulge in them as our most precious belongings. This is also why we like to remember the dates when we started something special. For instance, you’ll never forget the date of your first date with your life partner or the day you bought your first car.
While these are easy to keep in memory, what about the important dates of your digital life? Do you remember the first time you signed up for Facebook, or created your Snapchat account? Our guess is most of you might be able to round up to the month and year, but the date can be hazy.
Well, you needn’t sweat about it. If it is on LinkedIn where you want to go back to the date of your joining, we’ve got you! Keep reading till the end to know how it can be done.
How to Check When LinkedIn Account Was Created: A step-by-step guide
LinkedIn has undoubtedly become the most popular platform for professionals globally. That’s why we can understand if everything here is important to you, including figuring out when you joined it.
Luckily for you, this can be done right on the platform – even in the mobile app – in a few simple steps. If you’re a mobile app user, check out the guide that follows to know the steps. These work well for the web browser version as well, apart from a few minor differences.
Let’s get started:
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is navigate a blue icon with in written on it – LinkedIn’s mobile app icon – from your smartphone’s menu grid.
When you find the icon, tap on it to launch the app on your device.
Step 2: As the app opens, you’ll be taken to the Home tab. Swipe right on your screen here, and you’ll see a side bar with your name and display picture on top.
At the bottom of this bar, you’ll find a cogwheel icon with Settings written next to it. Give it a tap.
Step 3: Upon doing that, you’ll be taken to your Settings tab.
Here, you’ll find a list of options like Account preferences, Visibility, Notifications, and more.
The fourth option on this list is of Data privacy; give it a tap next.
Step 4: When you’re taken to the Data privacy tab, you’ll notice how it’s divided into multiple sections, with each section consisting of various options.
Don’t worry; you won’t need to scroll further down; the option you’re looking for is located in the first section itself.
Can you spot Manage your data and activity? Give it a tap.
Step 5: Next, you’ll find yourself on the Manage my activity tab, where all the major activities on your profile will be listed in reverse chronological order.
At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find page numbers arranged; click on the last number to go to the last page.
Step 6: The last update on this page would be – You added an email address.
And since adding an email to your account is the first step of creating it, the date you did the former is the date when your account was created!
Can you check when someone else’s LinkedIn account was created?
Finding out when your LinkedIn account was created was so incredibly easy – practically cakewalk – that we wouldn’t be surprised if you started to wonder whether it could be done for other users as well.
However, the answer to your query would sadly be a NO. This is because, if you remember, the steps to checking that exact date go through the account user’s Settings tab.
And since you can access only when you have the login credentials of this user, it’d be impossible to check the date their account was created for you.
That being said, we don’t believe the creation of a LinkedIn account is something anyone would be too keen on hiding.
So, if you are curious about when a certain someone joined the platform, you could simply ask them about it. They wouldn’t lie, trust us.
The bottom line
With this, we’re ready to wrap things up. Our topic of discussion today was finding an answer to this question: How to check when your LinkedIn account was created?
While it might sound complicated to figure out the exact date at first, if you know your way around the platform as we do, it wouldn’t take you long to figure out how it’s such an easy process.
