Twitter is one of the most controversial social media platforms of all time. However, everything has pros and cons, and Twitter is known for being abundant in the latter category. To start with, the first biggest problem in Twitter is the sheer unsatisfactory user experience. According to a survey conducted by Snapchat, Twitter has the most negative feedback out of all social media platforms.
The users feel guilty, misinformed, lonely, depressed, and overwhelmed on Twitter. Wow, talk about being a downer. You might be inclined to defend it by saying that the internet is not a very good place and that it’s not like any platform is perfect. You’re free to think that, but that won’t make it true.
According to that survey, Snapchat has the most satisfactory user reviews, and for good reasons. Snapchat users feel creative, attractive, flirty, excited, enthusiastic, playful, silly, and spontaneous. Moreover, don’t you feel as if the results do seem to align with the general reputation of both these platforms?
Besides the overall negative and problematic image of Twitter, it also isn’t doing so well in any other regard. Take, for example, its recent shift in ownership from Parag Aggarwal to Elon Musk. The whole deal-turned-hostile takeover was messy, involving alleged slander, misinformation, lawsuits, counter-lawsuits, and massive lay-offs.
Even after all that, no one can rightfully claim that it’s in the right hands or that there’s going to be any change in its condition. Although Musk has made some wild proclamations, none of us know what’s going to happen, isn’t it?

Secondly, never hand out your private information to anyone online, no matter how close they appear to be. One of the starting lines for a friendship that’s more than an online fling is if they’ve met you and someone close to you who acts as a guardian.
This can include but isn’t limited to your older sibling, teacher, parents, grandparents, or a close family relative. These are all the people that you can generally count on to be responsible, right?
If possible, it’s also a good idea to stop talking to strangers on the internet entirely, at least until you are 18-20 years old. Before you’re a legal adult, you’ll always be viewed as a child or as manipulatable by your parents, yourself, and random strangers.
So, as long as you follow these three rules, you’re bound to stay out of trouble. If you ever find yourself edging onto the border, just keep in mind how many teenagers have been through hell because of this one mistake.
Coming back to the point, if you need to delete your chats with someone for both of you, there’s something you can do. However, we have to mention that this isn’t a fail-proof method.
We’re saying this because if this user has already shown those chats to someone or taken screenshots, there’s nothing you can do. Instead of being hopeless, you can keep in mind that time is of the essence and act as quickly as possible.
All you need is to block this user. On Twitter, when you block someone, all your chats with them disappear for both users.

Step 1: Open Twitter on your smartphone; you’ll see your Twitter feed first.
Step 2: Tap the search bar and enter the user’s name you wish to block.
Step 3: You’ll see a vertical ellipsis icon at the top right on their profile. Tap on it, and a menu will materialize.
Step 4: Now, all left is to tap on the Block option, and you’re all set!

Twitter is quite a popular social media platform, but practically, it hasn’t got much to do with its service. Although it is a useful news outlet, it has been found that actual news accounts have published fake news many times for clicks and likes.
Take, for instance, deleting messages. Almost all other social media platforms that offer a DM feature also allow you to unsend a message, but not Twitter. Not only is it a convenient feature, but it has also become something users take for granted.
But since Twitter doesn’t provide that, the quickest way to delete messages for both sides is to block a user. Although it’s not the perfect idea, it’s all Twitter offers now. For the future, it’s best not to divulge any sensitive information over Twitter DMs in the first place.
