Step 1: Tap on the WhatsApp app icon on your phone’s menu grid to display it on your phone.
Step 2: After the app opens up on the screen, you’ll find the list of consequent chats lined up. Slide the screen left to display the Status area.
Step 3: You’ll spot a Search bar right at the top of the screen. Tap on it and type the name of the person whose status you want to mute.
